London Marathon Club Draw
Ackworth RR & AC has again received 3 guaranteed club entries for the 2010 London Marathon. The draw for these will take place at The Angel public House, Wakefield Road, Ackworth at 9.00 pm on Thursday, 19 November 2009. Club members, who have been members for at least 12 months, must produce their rejection letter or E Mail notification from the London Marathon ballot to the Club Chairman or Club Secretary prior to the draw being made.
London Marathon 2010
Subject to there being enough people interested, Cyril Jones will once again be organizing a coach and hotel accommodation for the 2010 London Marathon. Please inform Cyril (Phone 01977 702986) by 26 November 2009 if you are interested.
John Bell is taking names and money for this years Loftus coach trip.The price is 16 pounds.This includes coach travel and a single course carvery.Please express your interest to John A.S.A.P.

Winter Handicap
The Joe Thorpe 10 Miles Winter Handicap race will be held on Sunday, 3rd January 2010. The race will start and finish at The Angel, Wakefield Road, Ackworth. The slowest group will start at 10.00 am with quicker groups starting at 10 minute intervals. Please arrive early enough to register and collect race number. The cost is £1
Presentation Night
The club’s Annual Presentation Evening will be held on Friday, 5th February 2010 at The Rustic Arms, Low Ackworth. As usual, we will start the evening with a meal (one course) at 7.30 pm – choice of menu and cost to follow. Tickets can then be purchased from Yvonne Edwards on training nights at The Angel
