In 2007,the Ackworth club was presented with Clubmark.The Athletics Clubmark accreditation requires clubs to meet specific criteria set for athletics in the 4 clubmark catergories to show they are safe,effective and child friendly club.This has been one of the clubs main aims and now we have finally been awarded with Clubmark,show that our club is safe and child friendly.

The clubmark certificate was presented to the Ackworth club chairman, Cyril Jones by Marie Dixon from England Athletics prior a club training session at the Kings School.

Mr Jones was delighted to receive the award on behalf of the club. “It has taken nearly 3 years to complete all the work that was required” he said. “It was necessary to meet certain standards on a whole variety of topics, including club management, coaching, competition opportunities, health and safety and many other things. Now that we have this award, it sends out a clear message to everybody that Ackworth Road Runners & Athletics Club is a safe, effective and child friendly athletics club.”
